The Corridor¶
A dim, identical hallway that runs forever, with a door every four blocks along both walls. Grey panels, a flickering strip light every so often, darkness beyond a couple of dozen blocks, and a constant low hum. Every traveler walks a Corridor of their own.
corridor-wideThe home door¶
You first arrive facing the home door. Walk through it to return to your home Box. In lenient mode (the default) the home door glows faintly, so you can find it down a dark hallway.
corridor-home-doorOpening doors¶
Only a Coherent traveler can open a door. As it swings open you glimpse the kind of world beyond it: Calm, Strange physics, Hostile, Ruin, Civilization, Light, Time, Senses or Reflections of home. Walk into the open doorway to go through.
- A door always opens onto the same world. Remember the good ones.
- The doors right next to home lead only to Calm worlds or ones with Strange physics, so a first trip is survivable.
corridor-glimpseChalk¶
Nothing in the Corridor can be broken, and every door looks alike. Use chalk on a wall, the floor or the ceiling to draw an arrow pointing the way you face, and on a mark to redraw it. A stick lasts 32 marks. Make each colour from two calcite and a dye (bone meal for white).

Mark the home door in one colour. Mark every door you have been through with an arrow pointing home, in a colour that means good or bad. Then you can always count your way back.
If the Serum fades in the Corridor¶
Nobody stays in the Corridor without the Serum. When yours fades there, the Corridor lets go of you and the nearest door pulls you through into whatever world lies behind it. You are then stranded there until you find more Serum: see Other worlds.
